Skoda India is currently tasting success in the Indian market after nearly a decade. Yes, the sales number for 2022 sticks to 37,568 and that too in just 8 months. This is mostly because of their newer MQB AO IN platform that sees massive success.
The Czech carmaker took the approach of Make in India, Make for India products for the market. With 95% localisation of parts, the making costs of the product are reduced thus providing class-quality cars to the end consumer and that too without affecting their pocket.
Not only this but the carmaker has also gone ahead by providing new service touchpoints, expanding dealership networks and more. They also have lowered the service and maintenance costs which further ends in a happy ownership experience.

For Aug'22, the carmaker sold a total of 4,222 cars while the same for Aug'21 was 3,829. This is a 10% increase in sales numbers. The sales mostly comprise their popular MQB AO IN based products which are Slavia and Kushaq.
Mechanically, both Slavia and Kushaq get two engine options - 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI. The former churns out 114 bhp of power with a peak torque of 178 Nm. The bigger, four-cylinder, turbo petrol produces peak power and torque of 148 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively. Both the engines get mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard. For the automatic, 1.0L gets a 6-speed AT while a 7-speed DSG handles the 1.5L.

In other news, as per reports on the internet, Skoda will pull the plug from its flagship sedan, Superb in 2023. As for Kodiaq, they have re-opened the bookings and the deliveries will commence early next year. Also, the carmaker is keen on introducing Enyag iV. The same has been spotted testing on Indian roads as well.
