- The Kia Sonet facelift was recently spotted during a test run
- The Sonet facelift is expected to get some new features
- Front & rear design changes are also expected in the facelifted Kia Sonet
Kia Sonet has been a successful product for Kia in India. The featured-packed compact SUV was first launched in the year 2020 in India, and since then it hasn't received any major design updates from Kia. Moreover, since its launch, the competition from the rivals like Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, etc has only gotten tough. Therefore, Kia is preparing to give its compact SUV Sonet a major midlife facelift. Some major design updates & changes along with a few new feature additions are expected in the new facelifted Sonet. Thus, here we present the top 3 features you can expect in the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Wireless Smartphone Connectivity On All Variants
Kia Sonet has always remained one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in the segment. However, its rival Maruti Brezza now offers wireless Android auto/Apple car play. Moreover, the upcoming facelift of Tata Nexon is also likely to get the wireless Android auto/Apple car play feature. Weirdly, Kia currently offers wireless Android auto/Apple car play in the lower variants of Sonet which come with a smaller 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. But the higher variants of Sonet which come with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system get wired Android auto/Apple car play. Therefore, we expect Kia to integrate the wireless Android auto/Apple car play feature on all the variants of the upcoming Sonet facelift.
Kia Sonet Facelift: All-Wheel Disc Brakes & More Safety Tech
Kia already offers 4 airbags as standard in the ongoing Sonet. Also, Kia has recently made 6 airbags standard on its Carens MPV and Seltos SUV. Moreover, from October 1, 2023, no carmaker will be able to sell any of their models without 6 airbags as standard in India. Therefore the new Kia Sonet facelift is guaranteed to come with standard 6 airbags. Also, to stay ahead of its rivals like Mahindra XUV300, which offers all-wheel disc brakes, Kia is likely to equip the new Sonet facelift with all-wheel disc brakes and a few new active safety features like Electronic Brake Prefill, Brake Disc Wiping, etc.
Kia Sonet Facelift: 360-Degree Surround View Camera
Kia Sonet already offers front parking sensors along with rear sensors. It also gets a reverse camera. But its rival Maruti Brezza now offers an advanced 360-degree view camera system. This makes the Maruti Brezza the first and only SUV in the segment with this feature. However, Kia Motors is expected to equip the new Sonet with a much more advanced 360-degree surround-view camera system. This system will likely also get a rear blind view monitor which the Maruti Brezza does not get.
