- Base variant of Hycross to be introduced
- Also available for fleet buyers
- Offered in only a petrol and petrol hybrid powertrain
Toyota recently reopened bookings for the 2023 Innova Crysta, and according to some reports, it is also offering the new Innova Hycross to fleet buyers as well. On top of that, the Toyota Innova Hycross will be getting a new base variant for the hybrid and petrol powertrain. With the additional variant and more prospective buyers, the waiting period is expected to shoot up as well.
Let's see the details of the new variant to be introduced.
Innova Hycross For Fleet Operations
The Innova Crysta facelift 2023 launched with a 2.4-litre diesel engine only. Whereas the Hycross is available in 2 options- petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains. Interstingly, both offerings will be available for fleet operations as well as private use.
Particularly for the fleet operators, the Innova Hycross will be available in 3 trims-- base, VX, and ZX. Seating layout options are 7 and 8-seat configurations. Additionally, the petrol version will also be available for fleet buyers in both seating configurations.
This move will give Toyota a slight advantage over Maruti Suzuki, which will also launch its own derivative of the Innova Hycross somewhere down the line in 2023. Maruti currently offers the Ertiga MPV for fleet operators. It will be interesting to see whether Maruti will offer the Innova Hycross-based MPV for fleet buyers.
Innova Hycross New Base Variant
The Toyota Innova Hycross currently gets five trims G, GX, VX, ZX, and ZX (O). The first two are offered with the 2.0-litre petrol engine, while the rest get the 2.0-liter strong hybrid engine. Toyota is expected to introduce a new base model for both engines. It will also be available in both 7 and 8-seater configurations.
Pricing
The Toyota Innova Hycross petrol version is priced in the range of Rs 18.30 lakh and Rs 19.20 lakh. The Hycross hybrid range starts at Rs 24.01 lakh and tops out at Rs 28.97 lakh.
Dimensionally, the new Hycross is 4755mm in length, 1845mm in width, and 1785mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2850mm. The new model is 20mm longer and broader than the Innova Crysta. Its height, however, remains the same, but the wheelbase gets an extension of 100mm.
VERDICT - The new Hycross base variant is sure to stir up demand. Plus, with the fleet buyers now, the customers have definitely increased in number. This will shoot the waiting period, which is already touching the 1-year mark.
