Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently brought in some changes to their mid-size sedan, Yaris. New variants, dual-tone colour schemes and several other changes were introduced to jazz up the sales of their low selling sedan. Now, reports suggest that Toyota will bring a BS6 compliant Yaris to the Indian market soon.
Toyota will tweak the current 1.5-litre, four cylinder petrol motor into the BS6 iteration. Despite switching to new emission norms and cleaner technology, the performance of the engine will not be hampered.
The BS6 Toyota Yaris will continue to put out 106 bhp with a peak torque of 140 Nm. It will be mated to both 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed CVT. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency of the BS4 compliant engine sticks to 17.1 km/l and 17.8 km/l for the manual and automatic respectively. Once launched, we will see if the economy drops with the new model or not.
