While Honda patented the name NX 200 previous year in India, the design is now finally ready. As seen in the leaked images, most of the design inspiration is from the Honda CB 200X which is already on sale in India. The design is typical adventure motorcycle from Honda. The front features a rectangular LED headlight while being covered with a plastic cowl. The cowl extends to the side tank panels which are to support the front fairing and give the adv look. An non-adjustable tall windscreen is also visible upfront. While there is no beak design, the front mudguard seems to be designed to take care of the mud splashes.
Long telescopic forks are supported by the big front tyre and a single disc brake. The fuel tank is also slim and embeds good thigh support for holding the bike well during the off-road trail runs. The single-seat is wide for long-distance touring; whilst the rear supports the upright set design. The typical adv style upswept exhaust is supported by the big grab rails which will also act for luggage support. Overall the bike is nimble and looks at home when compared to the main rival i.e. the Hero Xpulse 200 4V.
Mechanically, we do not expect that Honda will introduce any new changes as compared to the CB 200X. The engine will also be the same 184cc, air-cooled engine which produces peak power of 17 hp and 16.1 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox will also be the same 5-speed constant mesh unit from the CB as well. While the power figures are a bit less as compared to the Xpulse, the lightweight chassis might make up the power to weight ratio substantially well when tested on or off the road.

The adventure motorcycle segment in India has taken an uplift with new products such as the KTM Adventure 390 2022. As Hero is already enjoying the good sales numbers from the Xpulse; Honda does not want to miss their chance for expansion in the segment. With patent images leaked, we can expect the new bike to debut shortly by the end of this year in India. The pricing will remain in the vicinity of the Xpulse itself, hence, giving it tough competition.
