The SUVs are very popular in the Indian market. At present, we have a lot of SUVs on sale in India ranging from the sub-4-metre compact ones to mid-size SUVs and we even have the full-size sport utility vehicles. Now, if we see the price bracket of Rs. 10 lakh - Rs. 20 lakh, most of the SUVs currently on sale are five-seater only and so they don't have enough space or seats for an extended family. But, soon we will be having a lot of seven-seater SUVs too to choose from in India. Tata Motors will soon launch the new Safari and Hyundai is also gearing up to launch the seven-seater Creta. The new upcoming Hyundai Creta 7 Seater (Alcazar) has been once again spied on test in India. So, let's have a look at its new pictures and all the details.
Now, as you all might already be knowing that Hyundai Motor Company has been working on the 7-seater version of the Creta since a really long time. Previously, the upcoming 7-seater Creta has been spied undergoing testing process multiple times in its native country South Korea. Now, the South Korean car manufacturer has begun its road testing process in India too. Just a few weeks ago, a test mule of the new 7-seater Creta was spied on test in the southern part of the country. Now, this time once again, the upcoming Hyundai Creta 7-seater SUV (Alcazar) has been spied on test in India in the southern part of the country, in Hyderabad to be precise. Now, if we talk about the changes in the 7-seater Creta compared to its current 5-seater version, so it will get a minor nip and tuck to differentiate both the vehicles from each other. The overall silhouette of the Creta 7-seater looks almost identical to its sibling. At the front, it will get the same fascia, however, with a revised grille that will sport chrome studs and will get new front parking sensors too. The side profile of the car also looks almost identical but it will be around 30 mm longer and a tad taller than the standard Creta. It will get usable roof-rails too unlike the flush-fitting ones on its 5-Seater sibling. The SUV will feature rear quarter-glasses for the third-row passengers and it might get a longer wheelbase too to accommodate three rows of seats.
The upcoming new 7-seater Creta will get more features than the standard 5-seater model, however, the mechanicals of the SUV will remain precisely the same as its sibling. This means that it will get three BS6 compliant mills with a slew of gearbox combinations. The first one of them will be a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will churn out 105 PS of power and 142 Nm of peak torque. It will get a more powerful 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine too with 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of peak torque. Finally, there will be also a 1.5-litre oil-burner. This 1.5-litre diesel engine will churn out 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Talking about transmission options, the 1.5-litre gasoline will be mated to a 6-speed manual and a CVT.
