Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Spied Ahead Of Launch
Mahindra XUV300 while pulling a decent number of sales for the brand has remained relatively behind its competition. Comparing it with the sales of Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon, it had an uphill task to cover this gap. The new facelift is aimed to take away its voes and take this compact SUV at par with the competition. The XUV300 Facelift while retaining its sheet metal, is coming with a refreshed front and rear styling. New LED headlamp design with DRLs, tweaked front grille, and a restyled front and rear bumper.
At its rear, expect a fresh tail lamp design along with a connected light bar spanning the tailgate, which is something that is now becoming a new norm. On top of this, we have also recently caught the new alloy wheel design which is one of the key aesthetically pleasing updates. While the outside is changing for good, it is the interiors that were a bigger concern amounting to its low sales, which are finally getting an upgrade.
Interior And Features
The interiors of the XUV300 started to date ever since the rivals updated according to modern consumer needs. This is finally changing for good and what we have caught so far, the facelift is coming with a host of premium features along with a bigger floating infotainment touchscreen. While it already offers plenty of features, expect a panoramic sunroof in place of the current single pane unit, a new digital instrument console, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charging pad, and a few more.
In terms of safety, the current model offers more than 25 safety features. It comes with 6 airbags, hill-hold assist, corner braking control, ESP, all-disc brakes, and a few more. The facelift could also offer ADAS as it is fast emerging as one of the key safety features in the latest launches. On top of this, the XUV300 scored a full 5-star rating in the GNCAP crash test rating, making it one of the safest SUVs in the country.
XUV300 Facelift: Powertrain
The engine is expected to be carried over from the current model. The XUV300 comes with 3 engine options, a 1.2-litre petrol (TCMPFi), a 1.2-litre turo petrol(TGDi), and a 1.5 lire turbo-diesel engine. These options will be available with the facelift as well. You get the option for both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed Autoshift transmission.
While the XUV300 facelift is approaching fast towards it launch, it will carry a higher price tag, owing to the updates and new features onboard.
Verdict
The popular SUV is gearing up for its much needed update. This facelift has a lot of things to take care of, both for the brand and the consumer. While it will propel its sluggish sales when compared to rivals, it will offer the upcoming buyers with a more expanded range of choices.
