Ahead of the Diwali season, several carmakers introduce discount benefits to increase sales and some bring new models to attract the market. MG Motor India is focused on both as they are offering discounts on their current models and also gearing up for the launch of Hector facelift. In this article, we share with you everything about the MG Hector facelift and what we know so far!
Mechanically, things will remain unchanged. It will be powered by the same three engine options - 1.5L turbo petrol, 1.5L hybrid petrol and 2.0L FCA-sourced diesel motor. The power and torque figures for all will remain the same, however, MG could bring an automatic gearbox with the oil burner.
On the inside, the interior of the MG Hector facelift is completely revamped. It will now boast of two-tone oak white and black colour scheme. There are re-positioned AC vents, piano black and brushed aluminium bits on the dashboard which gives it a premium look and more.

The SUV now also features a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is the largest in the segment. It will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster, an electronic parking brake, push button start/stop and more.
The new Hector is expected to get ADAS too and we expect it to be Level 2 just like what we've seen in the Astor. Features like lane departure warning, lane assist system, lane departure provision, adaptive cruise control and more are expected to be seen in the Hector facelift.
Other than the interior revision and introduction of new features, the exterior design too of the Hector facelift will be tweaked by a margin. On the front, it will now have an aggressive U-shaped chrome studded grille that joins with the LED daytime running lights. Moreover, the SUV gets a faux skid plate which gives it a sporty appeal and a tweaked fog light housing. We can also expect a new alloy wheel design and a slight change to the rear design.

The current MG Hector is priced from Rs 14.42 lakh to Rs 20.60 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. We expect a certain hike once the new model gets launched in the Indian market. We expect the launch to happen later this year.
Verdict
The facelifted Hector will be improved in many aspects and gain new features, safety equipment and an aesthetic design. Once launched, the Hector facelift will rival the likes of the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and some variants of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
