What to expect?
Recently observed at a crash test facility, the shots indicate that the upcoming model will feature a new set of headlights, a revised bumper, and an updated front grille. Additionally, the daytime running lights (DRLs) received a fresh new take. This refresh represents a mild update, focusing on enhancing aesthetics through increased usage of plastic components.
The previously spotted test mule of the Magnite facelift has revealed an updated rear profile as well however, the test mule of completely covered in camouflage. On the sides, we can expect a new design for the alloy wheels as well.
When can we expect its launch?
Multiple media reports indicate that Nissan plans to export the Magnite to numerous left-hand drive (LHD) and right-hand drive (RHD) countries. The latest updates suggest that Nissan's strategy involves exporting the vehicle initially, with plans to introduce it to the Indian market in late 2024. Also, with the launch of the facelift, we can expect an increase in the pricing as well.
Engine Specifications
Currently, the Magite comes with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder NA petrol engine producing 74 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. For the more peppy performance, the Magnite also gets a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine giving 100 bhp of power and 160 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated with a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. We expect the upcoming facelift to continue with the same powertrain options to cater to a wide variety of customers.
What new features can we expect?
Nissan usually focuses on important features in their cars, but the Magnite currently doesn't have some standard features that are seen as necessary nowadays. Currently, it comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and automatic climate control, among other features.
Nissan could offer some additional features as part of the facelift to enhance the features offered by the Magnite. We can expect features like rain-sensing wipers, rear Type-C or Type-A charging ports, 6 airbags, and other added safety and convenience features.
Will It Get A Price Hike?
Currently, the Nissan Magnite is priced between Rs. 6 lakh and Rs. 11 lakh. With the launch of the facelift model, and considering inflation plus the addition of new features by Nissan, we can anticipate a price increase of around Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000, depending on the specific model.
This compact SUV will do a head-on head with Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Taisor, and other small SUVs available in the same price range.
