First Glimpse: Nissan Magnite Facelift Spotted Testing
Nissan had a few products in its portfolio, which over time shrunk due to low demand or to simply rethink a new strategy for the price-sensitive Indian market. Keeping it active in the Subcontinent is the Nissan Magnite which clocks in decent sales. Nissan is looking for a fresh impetus for its brand in 2024 and what better way of doing that than improving the already in-demand compact SUV, the facelift is going to be the first product in its refreshed line-up for 2024.
Even though wraps hide a few details, there are other obvious details to pick with a little detailed attention. The test mule was spotted testing in India for the first time in Chennai and by the looks of it, you can immediately get that it is a Magnite. The overall sheet metal appears similar with a rear-integrated roof spoiler and newly designed rear tail lamps. Although not very evident, we expect a connected light bar at the rear, a new normal and also favored by the masses. However, the changes do not stop just here.
Interior And Feature Updates
You can notice the new alloy wheel design, chunky C-pillars, and a shark fin antenna now resting under the wraps. Apart from these changes, expect a new LED headlamp assembly with tweaked front and rear bumpers. Keeping in mind that this is the most affordable sub-compact SUV in the country, it offers a good blend of safety with a 4 4-star GNCAP rating and a reasonable set of features. It is almost certain that the brand will take it a step further and offer new features with the facelifted model. Expect tech like a bigger touchscreen, HUD, 360-degree camera, and more.

Powertrain And Rivals
The engine options are expected to continue as it is. It comes with a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder NA petrol engine that produces 71bhp with 96Nm of torque. The turbocharged petrol variant pushes out 99bhp along with 160Nm of torque. It continues to rub shoulders with the likes of Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and others in the segment.
Verdict
Nissan is betting heavily on the Magnite owing to its segment in the market. Compact SUV segment is one of the toughest to crack and the Magnite seems to be doing good enough to keep them afloat until new prodcuts are intrduced in the coming month. This refreshed model will give Nisaan its much needed traction to set the ground for more products in their line-up.
