Royal Enfield Scram 450 Touring Accessories - Details
As visible in the spy pics, the upcoming Scram 450 will be a roadster bike. It is going to share its platform and engine with the Himalayan 450. Hence, some similarities and design components are similar in both siblings. The test mule seen here is using a few accessories. We suspect that these shall be offered as an option pack on it. At the front, the handlebar gets bar-end mirrors that are also available for other RE bikes like Super Meteor 650. Also, the test bike is fitted with a black colour engine guard. Similarly, the tail section gets a huge plastic top box and luggage pannier mounts around it. There is also a saree guard on the left side of the bike indicating that it is almost production-ready.
As online rumours suggest, it'll be a roadster that is intended to compete with rivals like KTM 390 Duke & BMW G 310 R. The design of it is neo-retro and it will focus on a slightly committed riding position for the rider. Some other highlights include an LED headlight, LED indicators with integrated LED brake light, a digital speedometer with connected features, & 17-inch alloy wheels. RE will introduce a new 450cc engine on it that will be a single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit. This engine is likely to produce a peak power of 40 bhp or more.
Verdict - Launch Time & Price
As far as the test mule looks, the bike seems production-ready. But, RE is focusing on the Himalayan 450 now as its launch time is nearing. The Himalayan will possibly debut by Septemeber'23 while the Scram 450 might be introduced by early 2024. Speaking of its pricing, we suspect that RE will position it around Rs 2.75 lakh or slightly more to undercut its rivals.
