The upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been spied testing again. Revealing more information about the upcoming motorcycle, we share you the details.
Royal Enfield has already made clear that it will be expanding its product portfolio by adding 7 new motorcycles.
As we have already presented to you the upcoming Scram 411 which is based on the Himalayan adventure motorcycle; a similar product based on the 650cc platform is the upcoming Shotgun.
Spied testing again on the road, this bobber will be the third addition among the new 3-product expansion of the 650cc category. Royal Enfield is already working on a cruiser & adventure platform based on the 650cc engine.
This bobber motorcycle revealed in a new spy video shared by a YouTube channel Raj Kumar, reveals a lot of details. Here is what we've observed profoundly:
Design
The new bobber hosts a similar platform as seen on the 650 twins. Based on the same chassis as that of Interceptor 650, the Shotgun 650 uses a more low-slung overall design.
A round retro-style headlamp, tear drop-shaped fuel tank which is expected to be larger than 650 twins, a long cushioned comfortable single-seat, flat handlebar with round rearview mirrors, and chrome finished exhausts are some prominent design features of this upcoming motorcycle.
Apart from this, it'll also feature a semi-digital speedometer as already seen on the Meteor 350 with the tripper-navigation system providing step-by-step directions to the rider. Smartphone connectivity is also on the cards and is being tested thoroughly.
Engine
On the engine front, the Shotgun will be using the same 650cc, parallel-twin engine which churns out a peak power of 47 Bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. The smooth constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox as already seen on 650 twins will be used. Although, Royal Enfield might retune the gear ratios to accommodate the new design and dynamics.
Features
Apart from the semi-digital console, a notable change is the use of new upside-down front forks. This will provide more structural rigidity to the Shotgun 650. Dual-channel ABS compiled with front & rear disc breaks will also be featured.
Price
Expected to launch in the year 2022, Shotgun 650 shall bear a price tag between Rs 4-4.5 Lakhs.
