Upcoming Skoda Compact SUV Spied
The Skoda Compact SUV will debut in March 2025 and the test runs are currently underway. Spotted on a few occasions, this is evidently shorter than 4 meters, a necessity for the segment that it targets. While it gets LED headlamps and tail lamps, a Skoda-specific front grille, and a few other elements, it sheds off its solid bodyline, like those found on the Kushaq. This gives it a smoother side profile along with easier manufacturing and repair tasks.
Apart from this, it still gets those bold shoulder lines, chunky cladding, big quarter glass, and blacked-out alloy wheels. However, it is clearly shorter in wheelbase when compared to Kushaq, which makes sense as they sit in different segments. Plus, you get LED tail lamps with potentially connected light bar, a new norm, and a mass favorite.
Interior And Features
While it is poised to carry a lot of cues from its elder sibling, the Skoda Kushaq, this being a mid-spec trim, is expected to come with a smaller-sized touchscreen. On top of this, in its top-spec trims, you can expect to witness features like a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, a wireless charging pad, TPMS, Level-2 ADAS, and much more. While the top-end variants will offer a fully digital instrument cluster, this mid-spec variant will likely come with analogs only. Some of these features can be a part of this mid-spec trim as well, however, the lack of prominent interior shots keeps us from making any concrete and particular assumptions.

Skoda Compact SUV Powertrain Options: Turbo Petrol, But No Diesel?
This upcoming SUV will come equipped with a robust 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, delivering 115hp and 178Nm of torque. This engine will be matched with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Since you might be familiar with the fact that Skoda does not offer any diesel powertrain in India, you won't be getting any oil burner with this one.
With an expected starting price of around Rs. 8 lakhs, it will directly face off against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and more.

Verdict
The prospects of the Skoda's upcoming SUV looks promising. Since it has a history of offering safer vehicles, a section of buyers is already tempted due to the same reason. However, with a launch planned in March 2025, a lot could change in the segment that could demand further updates for this SUV.
