Upcoming Skoda Compact SUV Spied Along With Tata Nexon - See Here!

The upcoming Skoda compact SUV has been spied closely for the first time. The test car spotted in Pune is seen running along with Tata Nexon and Tata Punch rivals. Skoda Compact SUV: Design and Feature Expectations

As seen in the detailed spy shots, the upcoming C-SUV from Skoda will mimic the brand's design portfolio. It'll be positioned below the Kushaq while the platform will be similar for both models. One of the spy images showcases the test car running along with a Tata Nexon. Another frame shows the car alongside the Tata Punch. It is safe to assume after watching the spy images that it'll be bigger than the Punch but a little bit smaller than the Nexon.

The overall shape is muscular and strong yet bold body lines are clearly visible underneath the camouflage. The front design has the iconic Skoda grille with vertical slats. The split LED headlights and LED DRLs are also clearly visible; displaying a rectangular shape. At the rear, it'll get C-shaped angular LED taillights. The design of the taillight is partially visible in the photos as well. We assume that the turn indicators and reverse lights are halogen; probably on this variant.

Also, a faint look at the interiors shows that it'll get a TFT digital console and a touch-screen infotainment as well. The overall layout of the dashboard looks quite simple and there are no floating screens or visible elements that look very radical. Probably, Skoda is yet to finalize these details but the test car was seen running with a simple interior theme.

There is also a possibility that it can be a mid-variant. Because the test car has black steel wheels of size 15-inch and the rear windscreen has no defogger or wiper, it can be a middle version. This new SUV will be targeted at the rural Indian market. Skoda has also recently re-launched its Superb sedan in India.

Skoda Compact SUV: Engine, Price, Rivals, and Launch Date

Skoda has already announced that this SUV will get the 1.0-lt, TFSI engine that we also see on the Slavia. It makes a healthy 113 bhp of peak power output and 178 Nm of peak torque. Skoda shall offer a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option on this upcoming SUV.

The introduction time was also shared by Skoda in March. This new SUV is targeted at tier-2 and tier-3 city buyers and it'll launch before March 2025. It is expected to rival the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and the upcoming Mahindra 3X0. We expect its pricing to hover between Rs 8 lakh - Rs 12 lakh.
