Skoda has been working on a sub-4 metre SUV for some time now. With the new sub-4-metre, the automaker will strengthen its position in the sub-compact SUV segment in India. As per reports, the upcoming sub-compact SUV will make its official debut by 2025 and will be based on a similar platform as the Kushaq. The upcoming sub-compact SUV has been spotted on the Indian roads. Although the test mule was highly camouflaged, some major design elements were visible.

Skoda's Upcoming SUV: Kushaq Twin?
When we see the recent spy shots, it is apparent that the upcoming SUV will get the Kushaq-like design language. Despite the heavy camouflage, the split headlights and LED DRLs on the SUV were visible. Talking about the front fascia, the sub-4 metre SUV also gets the butterfly Skoda grille similar to the Kushaq.
However, the recently spotted test mule had steel wheels with black wheel covers, but we will get the alloy wheels option too. At the rear, the SUV features LED tail lights which look similar to the Kushaq.
Upcoming Skoda Compact SUV: Features
However, information about the features of the sub-4 metre SUV is still scarce, most of the features on offer will be similar to the Kushaq. The SUV is expected to come with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrumental console and ventilated seats., automatic climate control and sunroof.
The sub-4 metre SUV will get safety features such as a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, six airbags (standard) and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Skoda Upcoming Compact SUV: Engine
While we have no information about the powertrain of the SUV yet. But, we can expect the same 1-litre turbo petrol unit that comes with the kushaq SUV. This powerhouse generates 115 ps of power and 178 Nm of torque and comes linked to a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission.
Price and Competitors in India
The upcoming Skoda sub-4 metre SUV will make its India debut by 2025. The sub-compact SUV will expectedly come with a starting price tag of Rs. 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the sub-compact SUV will go against the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and others.
