Vinfast VF7
The Vinfast VF7 is a pretty clean car with minimalist and fluidic aesthetics with a connected LED bar upfront and LED headlamps underneath. The side profile takes it to a more muscular build with pronounced body lines and the chunky wheel arches and body cladding, which again flows smoothly towards the rear with a connected LED bar and a blacked-out lower bumper, all coming in harmony to give it an SUV character, but pretty smoothly. Inside, very interestingly, you'll not find any instrument cluster, but only a heads-up display, which is the replacement for it at first sight. The dashboard is a clean set-up with just a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, but the car gets plenty of features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, ADAS, 8 airbags,s and much more.
It comes with a sole 75.6 kWh battery pack but gets multiple states of tuning. The entry model comes with 204 PS and 310 Nm power and torque figures with a front-wheel drivetrain with a single motor. The top-trim comes with 354PS power and 500 Nm of torque, which comes in an AWD setup with dual electric motors in the mix. As for the range, the base model gets a claimed range of 450 km on a single charge whereas the higher spec version offers 431 km of claimed driving range.

Vinfast VF6
The second offering from the brand is the Vinfast VF6 which again follows the design philosophy of minimalist styling coupled with a muscular bodyline and pronounced wheel arches, shark fin antenna, and an integrated spoiler for a clean look that offers a breath of fresh air in the segment. The features include a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and more. But it all comes down to, when it's an EVm is how much range it offers. The Vinfast VF6 claims a range of 399 km on a single charge. It gets a 59.6 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that is good for 201 bhp and 309 Nm of torque.
The pricing for both these models is not yet announced but you can expect it in soon the coming weeks, near its launch.
Verdict
The Vinfast India debut comes at a time when the electric vehicle segment is starting to take shape in the country. While this is a good time to enter the segment, it also involves some serious cometition from brands that have a long history in India, like the Hyundai with its Ioniq 5, and Kia, Hyundai's sister brand with the EV6. But the future of Vinfast looks promising, if it can nail the pricing in a price sensitive market like India.
