Volkswagen Virtus is set for its global debut on 8th March. In the Indian market, the VW Virtus sedan will replace the Vento and itll be based on Volkswagen Group's India 2.0 revival strategy. This new VW car will be available in the Indian market by mid-2022. The Virtus has been spotted on public roads several times, with the same design language as all VW vehicles. Here are the five things you should know about the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus sedan.
Engine Options
The Volkswagen Virtus will have the same engine options as the Taigun. A 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 115 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque is one of the two engine options. A 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque is the other option. The 1.0L engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while the 1.5L engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission as an option.

Built on MQB A0 IN Platform
The Volkswagen Virtus will be based on Volkswagen Groups MQB A0 IN platform and itll be the fourth car by the group to be based on this platform. The VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and upcoming Skoda Slavia are also based on the same platform. The MQB A0 IN platform is specifically made for the Indian market to meet all the safety and other norms.
Exterior Design
The Volkswagen Virtus sedan will have the iconic VW grille at the front. The new teaser image also suggests that the new car will include LED projector lights, halogen fog lamps, and LED daytime running lights. The Virtus will be larger than the Vento and will include dual-cut alloy wheels, passive entry request sensors, electric ORVMs, and a shark fin antenna, among other things.

Interior Design and Features
The Virtus is expected to provide occupants with a pleasant cabin atmosphere as well as a plethora of features for a pleasant driving experience. A 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is likely to be standard on the next VW Virtus. Automatic temperature control, wireless charging, Volkswagen Connect car technology, will also be included in the upcoming sedan.
Launch and Rivals
On March 8th, Volkswagen will reveal the Virtus sedan. The forthcoming 2022 Virtus is expected to cost between Rs. 10.05 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Virtus will lock horns with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the upcoming Skoda Slavia. VW's new sedan will be available in India by the middle of 2022.
