Volkswagen India has revised the pricing of the Volkswagen Virtus sedan in India yet again. Since a price hike of Rs. 20,000 was seen back in June 2023, this is a slight revision for the number's sake and will not be affecting much to the buyers, keeping in mind the percentage change it makes, Why do we say so?
Read on to find out why there is no point to worry.
Volkswagen Virtus Price Hike
The Volkswagen Virtus lineup offers a diverse range with five variants to choose from, including Comfortline, Highline, Topline, GT, and GT Plus. Moreover, customers have the opportunity to opt for the special Edge limited edition in combination with the GT trims. Recently, Volkswagen implemented a price adjustment, resulting in a slight increase of Rs. 900 for both the manual and DSG (automatic) versions of the GT Edge Limited edition. As a result, the manual variant now starts at Rs. 17.10 lakh, while the automatic variant is priced at Rs. 18.77 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).

Price Chart
Old Price | New Price | |
GT Plus MT Edge Special Edition | Rs 17.09 lakh | Rs. 17.10 lakhs |
GT Plus DSG Edge Special Edition | Rs 18.76 lakh | Rs. 18.77 lakhs |
The price hike of Rs. 900 is a very minimal adjustment to even dent the estimates and budget. However, if we are talking about the absolute increase, this is it.
Engine Specs
Under the hood, the GT Edge limited edition of the Volkswagen Virtus is powered by a single 1.5-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine, expertly paired with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. This well-engineered motor is skillfully tuned to deliver an impressive output of 148bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm.
There is also a 1.0 liter unit on offer with the non-GT Line variants. The 1.0-litre petrol unit churns out 115 PS power with a peak torque of 178 Nm of torque.
It faces tough heat from the likes of Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and the aging Maruti Ciaz.
Verdict
The price hike is negligible when compared to the price of the Virtus sedan's exact variant. With an ex-showroom price of Rs.17.09 lakhs, 900 does not shake the estimated budget. But since it is your hard earned money, we have put out the exact amount for the sake of it. All other variants continue with their earlier pricing.
