- Hyundai Creta SX Executive model departs
- Semiconductor shortage remains the reason for its inception
- Price difference of Rs. 80,000
2023 has been the year for some remarkable changes. A lot of welcomes with tons of goodbyes. A major development this year is due to the Real Driving Emission norms kicking in from April 2023. But, not everything is related to rules, some are due to the market response as well. Hyundai Creta has been stripped of the SX Executive variant. Creta directly rivals the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Tata Harrier.
Let's get into the key highlights of what model of the Creta you cannot buy anymore.
Hyundai Creta SX Executive Variant Discontinued
Back in 2021, the auto industry was gripped by an acute semiconductor shortage. The result was the introduction of new variants that missed out on chip-reliant features. The Hyundai Creta SX Executive variant was born out of this necessity. This variant when retailed, retailed without features like touchscreen, Bluelink connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Arkamys Sound mood, burglar alarm, etc.
Courtesy of this move, Hyundai Creta SX Executive makes up for a much more affordable price tag. Compared to the SX variant, the Executive variant was priced at about Rs 80,000 lower. But as of now, you can't buy it anymore.

The 1497 cc Petrol engine generates a power of 113.18bhp@6300rpm and a torque of 143.8nm@4500rpm. Hyundai Creta is available in both Manual & Automatic transmissions. In configurations, Hyundai Creta has a dimension of 4300 mm in length, 1790 mm in width, and 1635 mm^3 mm in height.
Price
With these revisions, the Creta prices have also been revised. All the petrol variants are now expensive at Rs 20,000 whereas the diesel versions get a uniform price hike of Rs 45,000. The Hyundai Creta has a new starting price of Rs 10.84 lakh which goes up to Rs 19.13 lakh, both prices (ex-showroom).
VERDICT- At the time when this particular variant was launched, the chip shortage was a huge concern for car manufacturers. But what it also did was that it made this model approx. Rs 80,000 is cheaper than the SX model. Those on a tighter budget were the most benefitted from the same. But now, when this is no more an option, be ready to shell out extra if you want to take home this SUV.
