With launch of Tata Safari Dark edition & Gold edition we tell you what are the differences between them. A short comparison between Tata Safari Dark vs Gold.
Tata seems to have profoundly won the game of limited edition launches. With the huge success of Harrier dark edition along the Nexon & Nexon EV dark editions; Tata has introduced two limited editions of Safari. Tata Safari Dark & Gold editions are now available in market.
Whilst both these editions are jaw dropping to look at, in this article we explain to you what are the key differences present in Tata Safari Dark vs Gold.
Launched at a price tag of Rs 21.89 lakhs - 23.17 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), Tata Safari Gold is available in two colours that are white & black. White color contrasts a black roof and ORVM whilst the black car is inspired by coffee bean shades. Safari Gold is available only on top XZ+ & XZA+ variants. The list of changes are as follows:
Exterior
Tata Safari Gold has been brushed with subtle touches of 'gold' treatment which is clearly seen from the front of the car. Gold colored headlight bezels, front grill along with DRLs, door handle highlights have been all touched up with a smooth outline of gold. These simple changes enhance the overall luxurious ambience of Safari Gold.
Interiors
The cabin is where the most prominent looking updates have taken place. Gold door handles, 'T' of Tata logo on steering wheel, dashboard embedded with marble finish contemplated alongside the gold lining takes the cabin ambience to a whole new level.
Tata has focused to tilt the Gold edition towards buyers looking for more luxury & comfort than rugged masculinity. Safari Gold interiors have been equipped with ventilated front & rear seats, wireless phone charging, air purifier, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto; justify this tilt completely.
Engine
Under the hood, you'll find the same FCA sourced 2.0 Lt turbocharged diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter gearbox churning out a healthy 170PS of power & 350 NM of torque figures at crank. This engine has already been tested thoroughly by 91Wheels which you can view by clicking here.
Launched at Rs 19.05 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), Safari Dark edition is the new definition of badass on roads. The muscular lines are enhanced via Tata's famous all-black treatment of the car, thus making it look more butch. Here is what Safari Dark offers:
Exteriors
All blacked-out theme and that's it. The simple trick has made the car look distinguishably muscular and premium. With all-black front facia, side claddings along the contrast matching gunmetal alloys & blacked-out rear garnishing; Safari Dark is indeed a head-turner.
Interiors
Unlike the Safari Gold, Dark edition doesn't possess flashy garnishing inside but a subtle black theme rune from headliner to carpet. All blacked out interiors are coupled with additional features over a 'regular' Safari. Ventilated front & rear seats, wireless phone charging, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay come as standard fitments.
Engine
Tata Safari Dark uses the same engine configurations as standard Safari.
Verdict
Tata's sales has been pitching high since the launch of the Harrier dark edition & Nexon Dark edition. Now the cult brand 'Safari' being available in two different personas, Tata aims to cater for a widespread of buyer segment. If you're looking for a dark colored masculine SUV then Dark edition is the car to go ahead with but if you're up for a more soothing & comfortable ambience mixed with SUV practicality then Safari Gold edition is the one to go for.
