The most awaited hatchback for 2020 amidst the COVID-19 is the Hyundai i20 and now clear images of the same have been caught in public roads. The upcoming 2020 Hyundai i20 follows a sporty design that is more agile than its predecessor and in this article, we tell you its dimensions and features that what the hot hatch will bring in India!

As you can see the new-gen i20 has grown in dimensions for some aspects. It is now 5 mm longer, 16 mm wider and 24 mm shorter than before. The current-gen i20 is measured at 3,985 mm in length as to suffice with the tax duties that are imposed.
With the increased dimensions, the cabin inside is now roomier and the 2020 India bound Hyundai i20 brings in new technology and features. This new version now gets a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The hatchback also gets another identically sized display for the instrument cluster.
The dashboard sees a completely new design which has been inspired from the 2021 Hyundai Elantra. And the steering wheel is similar to that of second-gen Creta launched in India this year. The upcoming i20 gets modern connectivity features like BlueLink technology, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Voice Command and among others.

Other features on the 2020 i20 include wireless charging, auto HVAC functions, ambient lighting and Bose audio system and among others. The i20 now gets advanced safety features like FCA (Forward Collision Alert system) and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. It will possess basic safety features like multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminders and more.
Internationally, the i20 comes in two engine options - 1.0L turbo petrol in two tunes and a 1.2L petrol. It gets both manual and dual-clutch automatic depending on the variants. We doubt if the DCT will come to India-bound i20 later this year.
Here, in Indian markets the i20 will come with three engine options - 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and a 1.0L turbo petrol. The oil burner will the same power output as the Venue. Let's see if the 1.0L turbo petrol will be offered in its same tune of 118 bhp or will be lowered for i20.
The prices for the same are expected to see an increase because of the new engines, design and features. Once launched, the i20 will rival Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Honda Jazz. Please note that these dimensions are for the international spec model and the India bound will be slightly shorter to compete with the sub-4m mark.
