2021 has been a blast for the Indian Automotive Industry as we saw the launch of some amazing vehicles. The SUV department is on a roll and currently, the 7-seater department is gaining control. Yes, the latest entrant is the 2021 Hyundai Alcazar that was supposed to be launched in April then due to the pandemic it shifted to May and now to the third week of June.
The new Alcazar shares its underpinnings with the Creta and will be offered as a 6 and 7-seater option in the Indian market. Once launched, the Alcazar will take on the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV500.
The upcoming Alazar offers the longest wheelbase of 2761 mm and the largest boot space of 181 litres. Design-wise, the front profile resembles the Creta except for the chrome studded grille design that looks unique. The side profile comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and the stretched up profile.

Hyundai Alcazar will power two engine options - a 2.0L petrol and a 1.5L diesel. The 2.0-litre, naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit generates 159 PS with a peak torque of 191 Nm while the 1.5-litre diesel produces 115 PS with 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines get a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed torque converter as an option. One also gets three driving modes - City, Eco and Sport.
Feature-wise, Alcazar borrows the list from the Creta itself with the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One also gets wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and others.
