Jeep has revealed the 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift for the European market. While the exterior changes are kept to the bay, the 2021 Compass gets redesigned interiors, and an updated feature list in addition to a new petrol engine. This model will be replacing the current Jeep Compass sold in India, which was introduced back in 2017.
What is new?
The 2021 Compass gets a number of changes inside the cabin. The car now gets a larger 8.4-inch touch screen infotainment system which gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the brand's latest UConnect 5 Software also comes as a standard feature in this infotainment system. The dashboard and the door pads now get a new soft-touch material thus giving the cabin a premium appeal. Changes at the exteriors are minimum and the car now gets six new alloy wheel designs and five new colour options in the US market. It will be interesting to see how many of these features and designs are offered in India.
If the brand's claims are to be believed, the car gets reworked suspension and improved dynamics. Frequency Selective Damping valves are a major highlight of the shock absorbers as these help in reducing body roll and pitch. The steering response is also said to be improved and at the slower speeds, the steering now is much lighter.

Engine
The 2021 Compass facelift gets a new 1.3-L turbo petrol engine. This engine replaces the older 1.4-L unit. In the European and the American market, this 1.3-L engine is available in two states of tune - 128 hp and 147 hp. It is worth noting the fact that the torque output for both the engines is 270 Nm. The 127 hp engine comes mated to a 6-Speed Mt while a 7-Speed DCT is available with the 147 hp 1.3-L engine.
Moreover, the car also gets a hybrid variant which is powered by 1.3-L plug-in hybrid powertrain. This variant gets an all-wheel-drive but the rear axles are powered by an electric motor.
