Jeep Compass is a great SUV, no two ways about it! The Compass was first launched in the Indian market in the year 2017 and the SUV became an instant hit. However, it's been more than three years and the Compass has not received any major update yet. But, soon things are going to change for good! A few weeks ago, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) unveiled the new 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift at the Guangzhou International Motor Show in China. Now, according to the latest media reports, the facelifted Compass is coming to India! As per reports, the new 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift will be launched in India on January 23, 2021, and here are all the details about it.
If you remember, earlier this year in June 2020, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) unveiled the all-new Jeep Compass Facelift for the European markets. However, that was the European-spec Jeep Compass Facelift that has been developed specifically for the global markets. Recently, the carmaker also unveiled the Compass Facelift in China and it is this Compass which is going to make its way to our shores. Talking about the changes in this new facelift model, so the India-spec SUV will get a minor nip and tuck to enhance its aesthetic appeal. At the front, the new Compass Facelift will get a blacked-out version of Jeep's signature seven-slat grille with subtle chrome accents.

The mid-size SUV will also get a revised front-end with some minor tweaks on the front bumper. It will also get re-designed headlamps with LED DRLs and new LED fog lamps. The facelifted Compass will get a new design for the alloy wheels and the company might offer the SUV in new colour shades too. The rear design of the Compass will be almost similar to the pre-lift model, save for the addition of new dual-tip exhaust. Also, it will get new LED tail lamps. The Compass Facelift will get an all-new interior too. Taking the centre stage of the dashboard will be most likely an all-new and bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it will get Jeep's latest UConnect 5 software too. The other bits will remain more or less the same as before.
The mechanicals of the SUV will remain completely identical to the pre-lift model. This means that the new Jeep Compass Facelift will be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre multi-jet diesel engine. This oil-burner will churn out 170 PS of max. power at 3750 RPM and 350 Nm of peak torque between 1750-2500 RPM. This engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It will also get the same BS6-compliant 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This turbo petrol motor will pump out 163 PS of maximum power at 3750 RPM and 250 Nm of peak torque between 1750-2500 RPM. This engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The top-spec diesel variants of the Compass Facelift will get the 4WD system too.

Now, finally talking about the launch timeline and price, so as per the latest media reports, the new Jeep Compass Facelift will be launched in India next month on January 23, 2021. The unofficial bookings for the same are already open at select Jeep dealerships across the country. Currently, the petrol trims of the Compass are priced between Rs. 16.49 lakhs - Rs. 21.93 lakhs while the diesel variants are priced between Rs. 17.99 lakhs - Rs. 24.99 lakhs.
