Jeep India has started the deliveries of their premium SUV, 2022 Meridian in the Indian market. The 7-seater SUV is available in two trims - Limited and Limited (O). The prices for the same start from Rs 29.90 lakh to Rs 36.95 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Do note that these are just introductory prices of the SUV.
Mechanically, Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel motor. This is the same engine seen on the Compass as well. It pumps out 168 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 350 Nm. This engine gets mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox as an option.

Feature-wise, the Meridian is equipped with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a large panoramic sunroof, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, powered tailgate, Apline 9-speaker audio system and more.
Safety equipment on the car includes multiple airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-descent control (AWD), rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, traction control and many more.

Jeep Merdian gets a front-wheel-drive configuration as standard while its closest rival, T-Fort gets an RWD. Only the top of the line, Limited(O) gets an AWD layout and it gets mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Other rivals of the Meridian are Skoda Kushaq, MG Gloster and VW Taigun.
