Maruti introduced the new Baleno in the Indian market recently with a starting price of INR 6.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is currently offering seven variants of the Baleno in the Indian market. The brand is also expected to introduce the CNG variants of the Baleno soon and the Baleno CNG will take on the rivals like the upcoming Altroz iCNG. 2022 Maruti Baleno CNG Vs Tata Altroz iCNG - Design And Dimensions
With the launch of the latest facelift model, we now get the Baleno with a better-looking design language that is largely dominated by new LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs while the front grille too is new now. While the car gets dual-cut alloy wheels on the higher trims, it is still unknown whether the same will be offered with the CNG iterations of the car. In all, the Baleno does boast a subtle and elegant styling that should appeal to almost everyone.

The Tata Altroz on the other hand offers a more aggressive and sporty styling that gives it a better road presence and sharp looks. In addition to this, the Altroz also boasts better build quality while Tata might also offer the Altroz CNG with higher trim options that will help the buyers opt for a better looking CNG car.

2022 Maruti Baleno CNG Vs Tata Altroz iCNG - Engine And Performance
The Baleno CNG will be offered with the same 1.2-L motor that will powers the standard versions of the car. In its CNG avatar, it is expected to boast a peak power and torque output of 70-75 PS and 95-105 Nm respectively. This engine will only be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Tata Altroz on the other hand is expected to get the same 1.2-L Revotron Bi-Fuel engine that is also seen on the Tiago iCNG. This engine, in the Tiago, delivers 73 PS and 95 Nm of maximum torque while it comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the power and torque output might be comparable, it is expected that the Baleno will have an edge over the Altroz in terms of refinement, smoothness, and power delivery.

While both the brands are tight-lipped about the launch of the CNG iterations of the Baleno and the Altroz, we are expecting the launch to take place in the second half of 2022. The expected price of the Baleno CNG and the Altroz iCNG stand at INR 7.15 lakh and INR 7 lakh respectively (ex-showroom).
