Maruti has finally launched the much-awaited, 2022 Grand Vitara in the Indian market. It is priced from Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 19.65 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The bookings so far are over 57,000 units and the deliveries for the same will start soon.
Mechanically, Grand Vitara is powered by two engine options - 1.5L strong hybrid and 1.5L mild hybrid. The former is sourced from Toyota and is a three-cylinder motor. The peak power and torque for the same sticks to 114 bhp and 122 Nm, respectively. This engine gets mated to e-CVT unit and delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of 27.97 kmpl.
The other unit is the same as found in XL6. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor belts out as much as 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option. This motor also gets an AWD set-up as an option and that is paired with the stick shift gearbox.

Feature-wise, Grand Vitara is loaded up to the brim. It gets a panoramic sunroof, cooled ventilated front seats, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a head-up display and more.
Safety equipment on the SUV includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, a 360-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, a high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, all-wheel disc brakes, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control and more.
