After much teasing, Tata has finally launched the 2022 Nexon EV Max at Rs 17.74 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The EV Max is available in two variants only - XZ+ and XZ+ Lux, both of which are offered with a dual-tone shade. Compared to the older model, the new EV Max gets more driving range, features, and safety equipment but at a cost. It is pricier by Rs 1.79 lakh than before when compared with the XZ+ variant of the Nexon EV.
The 30.2kWh battery pack is now replaced by a bigger 40.5 kWh one that gives a better real-time driving range and generates more power and torque figures. Earlier, the power and torque numbers were limited to 127 hp and 245 Nm but now with the new battery pack, it sticks to 143 hp and 250 Nm. In addition to this, the top speed of the Nexon EV Max now sticks to 140 kmph and the car does a 0-100 kmph sprint in under 9 seconds. The ARAI certified driving range of the Nexon EV Max sticks to 437 km.
The current model of the Nexon EV can only be charged with a 3.3 kWh portable charger but this newer model is configured for a bigger unit, 7.2 kWh. The carmaker is providing the smaller charger as standard and the bigger unit comes at an added cost of Rs 50,000.

While the Nexon EV Max can be charged with the smaller charger, however, it will take 15-16 hours to juice up the battery to full. With the bigger and more powerful, 7.2kWh charger, the charging time is reduced to just 6.5 hours. With the help of a DC fast charger, 0-80% of the battery can be charged in just 56 mins.
The Nexon EV Max gains on an illuminated gear knob with park mode, wireless charging, an air purifier, electric parking brake with auto hold, cooled seats, TPMS, auto-dimming IRVM, smartphone integration, front ventilated cooled seats and cruise control. Safety features too are improved on the new model as it now gains on hill hold assist, hill descent control, all four-disc brakes and an electronic stability program. Rest, all the features and safety equipment are the same as before. Colour options on this version include Signature Intensi Teal, Daytona Grey and Pristine White, all of which will be offered in a dual-tone shade.
