2022 Tata Nexon EV Max - Top 5 Things To Know!

Tata is a major player in the electric vehicle market, and their Nexon EV vehicle was recently modified. The Tata Nexon EV Max is the most recent version of the Nexon SUV, and it comes with a slew of additional features. The new long-range Nexon EV is priced between 17.74 lakh and 19.24 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and comes with a larger battery pack and other significant changes. Here are the top five things that you should know about the new Tata Nexon EV Max.

New Battery Pack

The major update done in the Nexon EV Max is the addition of a new battery pack. Now the vehicle gets a 40.5 kWh battery pack instead of the old 30.2 kWh battery. The new battery provides a longer real-time driving range and produces greater power and torque. The power figure now stands at 143 hp and 250 Nm. It now has an ARAI-certified range of 437 kilometres thanks to the improved battery. The Max variant also has a top speed of 140 kmph and a zero to 100 kmph sprint time of less than nine seconds.

New Features

Tata has included some additional features in the Nexon EV Max in addition to the new battery pack. Tata has installed an electronic parking brake with the auto-hold feature. Wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a new jeweled gear selector knob with an active mode display, an air purifier, smartwatch connectivity, auto-dimming IRVM, and cruise control are now available for the electric SUV. The Nexon EV Max also has three driving modes: eco, city, and sport, as well as eight additional functions on the upgraded ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology. 

Fast Charging Support

With the Nexon EV Max, Tata offers two charger options: a smaller 3.3 kWh charger and a bigger 7.2 kWh charger. The larger and more powerful charger costs an extra Rs 50,000 and charges the battery in just 6.5 hours from the AC supply, compared to the 3.3kWh charger, which takes 15 to 16 hours to completely charge the electric SUV. It also supports rapid charging, with the DC fast charger allowing for a charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 56 minutes. This charger comes with an RFID card for quick charging authorisation.

New Exterior and Interior Colour

The SUV now comes in a new Intensi-Teal colour that is only available in the Max line. There is currently no Dark Edition available for the Max variant. The inside of the electric SUV has been upgraded to Makaran beige.

Variants and Pricing

The Tata Nexon EV Max is available in two models: the XZ+ and the XZ+ Lux. The XZ+ variant with the 3.3kW charger is the entry-level model, priced at Rs 17.74 lakh. The XZ+ with the 7.2kW AC fast charger is the following model, priced at Rs 18.24 lakh.

The 3.3kW model of the XZ+ Lux starts at Rs 18.74 lakh, while the XZ+ Lux with a 7.2kW AC fast charger costs Rs 19.24 lakh.

These are the top things to know about the Tata Nexon EV Max. It will compete with the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona, both of which are more expensive than the Nexon EV.
