- Hyundai has launched a new 1.5-litre turbo GDi petrol engine variant of Alcazar

The Hyundai Alcazar, a 6 and 7-seater SUV from Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), now has a new 1.5 turbo GDi petrol engine option available with both a 7-Speed DCT and 6-Speed manual transmission. The new engine option is launched at Rs 16.74 lakh (ex-showroom). There will be four trim levels for the 2023 Hyundai Alcazar: Prestige, Platinum, Platinum (O), and Signature (O).

2023 Hyundai Alcazar - New Updates
The 1.5 l diesel CRDi engine in the Hyundai Alcazar, which is RDE compliant and capable of producing 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque, will still be offered. The new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine produces 253 Nm of torque and 160 PS of power. The new 1.5 T-GDi Petrol Engine is E20 fuel ready and RDE compatible. The 2.0-lite NA petrol engine that was previously offered in the Alcazar has been dropped by the manufacturer. The SUV will have higher mileage due to the smaller engine. Hyundai claims that the SUV achieves 18 km/l with the DCT and 17.5 km/l with the manual transmission option.
Hyundai Alcazar now also gets a new front grille design and puddle lamp logo as part of MY'23 revisions. The Alcazar now comes standard with ISG (Idle Stop & Go), Side Airbags, and Curtain Airbags on all trims, giving it a total of six airbags.

Verdict: The Hyundai Alcazar has high-end features and now have a smaller petrol engine that will provide better mileage. The Toyota Innova Hycross, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus will all continue to be competitors of the Alcazar.
