- Volkswagen India has updated the Taigun & Virtus with new convenience features
- 2023 Volkswagen Taigun & Virtus are now RDE compliant and E20 fuel ready
- The brand announces a price hike of up to 2% across its model range effective 1 April 2023
The feature options of the Taigun and Virtus have received a little update from VW India. The MY23 Volkswagen car lineup is now RDE compliant and prepared for E20 fuel, the brand has announced in addition to the feature enhancements. With all these upgrades, VW plans to raise prices on all of its model-range vehicles by up to 2 percent as of 1 April 2023.

Volkswagen Taigun & Virtus Updated features
The Volkswagen Taigun's Highline variant of the 1.0l TSI Dynamic Line and the GT variant of the 1.5l TSI Performance Line now have "Auto Headlights" and "Auto Coming/Leaving Home lights," respectively. In addition, the VW Virtus now includes rear fog lamps in all of its trim levels, a safety feature that improves the car's visibility on the road.

Volkswagen Taigun & Virtus Engine Options
Both the 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine are available in the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. For the 1.0-liter versions of the Taigun, the available transmissions include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, a 7-speed DSG, and a 6-speed manual transmission. The litre Virtus, on the other hand, only receives a 7-speed DSG gearbox; all other transmission options stay the same.

Volkswagen Taigun & Virtus Price
The VW Taigun now has an ex-showroom starting price of Rs. 11.55 lakh and goes up to Rs. 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus, however, has a price range of Rs. 11.31 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs. 18.41 lakh (ex-showroom). From April 1, 2023, the brand will raise the price of its range by up to 2%.
Verdict: With the new features, the Taigun and Virtus are now more feature-rich options in their segments. Some buyers who intend to purchase a VW vehicle in the near future may be discouraged by the upcoming price increase.
