2023 Yamaha FZ FI has made its global debut. The MY23 make FZ features changes to the design as well as dimensions. Its engine has also been updated.
The 2023 Yamaha FZ FI bike has been launched in Brazil with numerous changes to it. The new updated model has received design, dimensions, & even engine revisions. The updated naked sports bike from Yamaha is expected to launch in India by the next year.
2023 Yamaha FZ Details
The first and the foremost lookat the new bike seems familiar to the current generation. However, look closely and you can easily spot the differences. The headlight unit is now a single-pod projector unit which has been carried from the Yamaha FZ 25. Apart from that, the rest of the features at the front look similar.
Meanwhile, the overall length of the new FZ has increased up to 10 mm. Additionally, the ground clearance has also been increased by up to 5 mm. The Brazilian spec bike now has a good amount of underbelly space of 170 mm. However, the fuel tank capacity has been decreased considerably. While the current bike has a 13 liters of tank; the new gen bike has 11.9 liters of fuel tank capacity.
The instrument console remains largely the same. The only change is the repositionaing of the the tell-tale lights in it. The Indian spec bike comes fitted with the Bluetooth smartphone connectivity as well. The new gen FZ also has the same for connected riding. Come to the rear and there are no visible changes to the updated bike.
Engine & Specifications
The engine, however, has undergone a slight variable power distribution. Yes, the new FZ gets the same old unit but it now produces 12.2 bhp of peak power. While the current bike makes this peak power at 7,250 RPM the new one makes it a bit late at 7,500 RPM. Additionally, the torque has come down significantly. The new bike produces peak torque of only 12.7 Nm compared to the 13.3 Nm of the current model. The gearbox is the same 5-sped unit on the Brazilian spec bike.
Yamaha has also added new colour options and refreshed graphics. The colours include - Racing Blue, Midnight Black, & Magma Red. The addition of these make the new FZ look fresh and young. The Indian debut of the MY23 FZ is expected in the Q1 of the upcoming 2023. We also expect that the new model will offer more fuel economy as well. However, the prices are expected to increase mildly due to more features & revised tech.
Its main rivals in India are - TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160, & Pulsar N160.
