2024 Ford Endeavour: Launch Time, Price, Engine
Not long ago, Ford homologated the design of the 2024 Endeavour in India. Additionally, a mid-size SUV and Mustang Mach E were homologated as well. Moving forward, after the first spotting of Endeavour and Ranger in Chennai, new spy shots have emerged online. The production-ready right-hand drive cars were spotted at Chennai port. The import suggests to us that Ford is preparing for technical research, lessons, and probably future certifications required for the launch.
Globally known as 'Everest', the new Endeavour is expected to come as a CBU version initially. Ford is also in talks with Tata to make its Chennai factory operational for future products. The Ranger, a pickup version of Endeavour, might also be launched to rival the Toyota Hilux. However, the initial focus of Ford is going to remain on the hybrids and EVs.
The Indian-spec Endeavour will get a 2.2-lt, single turbo-diesel engine. A 10-speed automatic gearbox will be equipped with it. Mind you, this is the same powertrain that the previous generation Endeavour offered in India. Ford sells three diesel and one petrol engine options in the international markets. Interiors will get soft-touch leather highlights, a 12-inch vertical infotainment screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, etc.
As the Endeavour will initially come as a CBU, the pricing will revolve around Rs 50 lakh (estimated). Its primary rival in India is the Toyota Fortuner.
Verdict
The return of Ford in India is still not official. However, the imported units hint that Ford can make an annoucement in the coming months. The first model can possibly be the Endeavour. If so, it'll launch sometime around later this year or early next year.
