2024 Hyundai Creta SUV - Design & Features
In terms of design, Hyundai is going to radically change it. The test car is heavily camouflaged but there are some visible details. For example, the front grille is going to be more wide and large in size. This can be sought as something we've seen on the current Verna. Also, there is a radar unit that implies it'll get ADAS level 2 (possibly) & a 360-degree camera. Additionally, it might also get a connecting LED DRL bar over the grille as Verna. Meanwhile, the headlamp design is now split like the Venue or the upcoming Exter. It hoses new DRLs that are possibly going to be H-shaped.
In terms of dimensions, we don't suspect radical changes. The overall silhouette of the SUV is going to be similar to the current model. However, we do expect similar changes to the rear as on the front. This means that a new set of LED taillights, a rear bumper, & probably a redesigned boot lid shall be used. Hyundai is also likely to introduce hefty changes to its interiors. A new digital cockpit along with a bigger infotainment screen and maybe a connected screen design as the latest Verna can be used.
Engine Options - No More Diesel?
The current model of Creta is offered in two engine options. One is a 1.5-lt turbo-diesel and the other one is a 1.5-lt NA petrol. However, the updated version will likely introduce a new 1.5-lt turbo-petrol engine as we saw on the new Verna. Meanwhile, there are possibilities that the diesel engine shall be discontinued with the updated model. Hyundai recently axed the diesel engine on the new Verna as well. Hence, the new Creta might also undergo something similar.
Verdict - Launch & Price
The launch of the new Creta is possible by early next year. We suspect that Hyundai shall launch it by February 2024 in India. However, its pricing will see a hike due to new features like ADAS. Before its launch, the KIA Seltos facelift is going to launch in India. Other rivals of Creta include Maruti Grand Vitara & MG Astor.
