In preparation for its anticipated early next year launch, Mahindra is actively conducting tests on the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift in India. Recent spy images circulating online provide a glimpse of a production-ready test prototype of the refreshed model. And while the exterior is getting a major overhaul, the inside is where the changes are following a new trajectory as well.

Let's look at the major updates incoming with the 2024 Mahindra XUV300 facelift.

2024 Mahindra XUV300 Facelift: Major Upgrades Incoming

The most recent spy photographs depict the upcoming XUV300 facelift adorned with components that are ready for production. Notable elements include fresh headlights, front-facing C-shaped LED DRLs, updated taillights featuring a linked LED strip, novel alloy wheels, an enlarged touchscreen, and various other enhancements.

The XUV300 facelift is poised to receive a substantial exterior overhaul, as evident from the test mule images. The front fascia has undergone a complete redesign, borrowing design cues from the Mahindra BE05 Electric model, such as the sleek headlamps and distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs.

The facelift is expected to introduce a more prominent front grille and bumper. On the sides, minimal changes are foreseen, though new alloy wheels might be introduced. The rear will mirror the front's level of transformation, with connected C-shaped LED tail lights, a new roof spoiler, and a redesigned boot lid. The rear profile exudes a more muscular aesthetic compared to the current model.

Interior Updates: Major Overhaul Incoming

When the competition was coming up with modern cabins, there was one complaint all around. The cabin of XUV300 is now starting to feel a bit dated. But this is soon going to be a thing of the past. While the dashboard design maintains a semblance to the current version, a noteworthy change is the introduction of a larger freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. Positioned above this screen are the center air conditioning vents. The steering unit's design retains its similarity to the existing one. One of the standout additions to the segment is the panoramic sunroof, a segment-first with the updated XUV300.

Mahindra might introduce a range of new premium features as well. They include ventilated front seats, a digital instrument display, wireless phone charging, and a 3600 surround view camera. Meanwhile, features carried over from the current model encompass cruise control, dual-zone climate control, up to six airbags, a single-pane sunroof, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, and a rear-view camera.

Powertrain

The upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift will retain its current engine lineup. This includes the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine with multipoint fuel injection, generating 110 PS of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The intercooled direct injection variant of the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine produces 130 PS and 250 Nm. The 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine churns out 117 PS and 300 Nm. All engine options are paired with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Verdict

With a refreshed exterior design, addition of premium features like a larger touchscreen and a panoramic sunroof, and the continuation of its potent engine lineup, the facelift offers a blend of style, technology, and performance. In conclusion, carrying forward existing strengths while introducing new enhancements, the XUV300 facelift is primed to be an appealing choice for those seeking a feature-packed and dynamic compact SUV.
