Maruti Suzuki India Limited is close to launching the updated version of its popular budget sedan, the Maruti Dzire. The upcoming sedan is expected to be launched on November 11, 2024. The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will get similar updates as the Swift and some differentiating elements. However, it will be a worthy update over the current-gen model launched in 2017. It will be based on the same Heartect platform as the new Swift. Maruti Suzuki Dzire Updated
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a generational update over the current-gen model which means it will be a comprehensively revised product. You can expect some major tweaks in the design and a new Z series Engine (the same unit on offer with the Swift. Below you check at which level things will change- design-wise, powertrain-wise and feature-wise.
2024 Maruti Dzire: Design
While the new Dzire will somewhere resemble the Swift, it will have its own identity as well. It will feature a new six-slat grille which reminds us of Audi's iconic Bavarian beard grille. Other design elements include sleek LED headlamps, LED DRLs and foglamps as well. In terms of side profile, the upcoming sedan will get dual-tone alloy wheels and metal finish window sills. Most importantly, this time it comes with a sunroof, but a single-panel one. Overall, the sedan will look more muscular and cleaner than the outgoing model.
2024 Maruti Dzire: Features
In terms of features as well, the new Dzire will get similar updates as the new Swift. It will feature a 9-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and a semi-digital driver's display (a more functional unit than the previous one). Apart from this, the new Dzire will boast steering-mounted controls, USB type-c charging and rear AC vents.
New Maruti Dzire: Powertrain
The Maruti Dzire will get the same 1.2 litre Z series engine currently on offer with the Swift. The powerhouse will be available with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. On Swift, the same engine produces 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque. The brand will also launch a CNG version of the sedan during the launch or at a later stage.
2024 Maruti Dzire: Price and Rivals
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to be priced between Rs. 7 lakh and 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the 2024 Maruti Dzire will lock horns with the Hyundai Aura and the Honda Amaze. In other news, Honda will also launch the updated Amaze by the end of 2024 which will further heat the competition in the respective segment.

Verdict
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire seems like a well-rounded upgrade, with refined design elements and modern features like a sunroof and a larger infotainment screen. Its familiar yet improved engine should satisfy daily commuters, while a competitive price point will keep it relevant. However, its close resemblance to the Swift might not appeal to everyone.
