Nissan has revealed the second-gen Kicks SUV at the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in Brooklyn, New York. Nissan Kicks SUV: Drawing Inspiration From The Mitsubishi XForce
The updated Nissan Kicks has both cosmetic and functional improvements. It sports a new front grille with horizontal lines, LED headlights, and a sloping roofline. The redesigned bumper and strong fenders enhance its lower half, while the rear features a similar horizontal LED tail design. Notably, its design cues draw inspiration from the Mitsubishi XForce, popular in the ASEAN market.
Nissan Kicks SUV: Now Bigger And Spacious Inside
The second-generation Nissan Kicks SUV boasts significant upgrades in its dimensions compared to the previous model. The length has increased from 4310mm to 4366mm, width from 1760mm to 1800mm, and height from 1630mm to 1610mm. The wheelbase has grown by 36mm to 2656mm, while ground clearance now stands at 213.36mm.
Front shoulder room grows by 1.7 inches, while rear-seat passengers get 1.5 inches more shoulder room and 0.9 inches extra knee room. Cargo capacity hits 850 litres, with SV and SR variants offering dual-level trunk floors.
2024 Nissan Kicks: Features
The Nissan Kicks' interior is packed with features including a 12.3-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, Bose speakers and more. While variants get exclusive features, such as the SR having four USB Type-C ports and a 10-speaker audio system, and the SV and SR boasting a wireless charging pad.
All models include ADAS features like Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist. S and SV get Intelligent Cruise Control and the SR variant gets ProPILOT.

2024 Nissan Kicks SUV: Engine And Indian Launch
The Nissan Kicks comes equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine, delivering 141 bhp, paired with Nissan's latest Xtronic transmission. All-wheel drive option will be available.
Nissan initially launched the Kicks SUV in 2019 but discontinued it in 2023. Its return to the Indian market with the next-gen Kicks remains uncertain. It currently sells the Magnite as its only product in India. Nissan's roadmap for India includes the introduction of several vehicles: a new compact SUV (Bigster SUV), an updated Magnite, a three-row SUV based on the Duster platform, an MPV based on the Triber, an entry-level EV, and the X-Trail. These launches are expected by 2025.
Nissan Gears Up For Upcoming Magnite Facelift
Nissan readies the Magnite facelift for India and spotted testing in Chennai. Despite the heavy camouflage, noticeable updates include redesigned rear tail lamps, chunky C-pillars, and a concealed shark fin antenna. The new alloy wheel design also catches the eye. Engine options are likely unchanged with 1.0-litre NA petrol and turbo variants. Competing with Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Hyundai Venue, in the segment.

Verdict
The next-generation Kicks appears to offer more features compared to its current global model. When it comes to design, there are noticeable changes yet it still retains some familiar elements. As for performance, it seems promising, but how it actually performs on the road remains to be seen.
