Volkswagen Taigun SUV Facelift - Details
The Taigun SUV has proved to be a successful model for the company in India. However, the SUV is a rebadged T-ROC SUV sold globally. Hence, this global model will soon be updated with a new design. The upcoming facelift model was recently seen testing without any camouflage. It looks majorly similar to the current model but it'll get subtle design changes to it. The spy shots reveal that its front design will get a new front grille, a new set of headlights, & a redone bumper design. The use of chrome is also less but we anticipate that its Indian cousin will get some more chrome at its nose for sure.
As its body shell is going to remain the same, the side profile is also similar to the current model. However, the test model has 5-spoke alloy wheels that are sold on the global T-ROC. In India, the new facelift might not get a new design for alloys though. Meanwhile, the rear-end design looks fairly updated. The big LED taillights with a fat LED light bar are smoked now. Also, the LED design of the taillights also looks new. The rear bumper also looks redesigned but nothing major has changed at the rear to distinguish it from the current model.
The interior design of Taigun will also get subtle changes. VW might offer new features on it. Under the bonnet, the new model is suspected to remain unchanged. The current Taigun gets two engine options. These include a 1.0 TSI motor and a 1.5 TSI option. Both of these engine options are available with manual as well as automatic transmission options in India. The new model is expected to land in India by 2024.
Verdict
The VW Taigun SUV facelift will get new design changes. However, most of the parts of the SUV will remain unchanged. VW wants to give it a fresh appeal as its primary rival i.e. Hyundai Creta is also going to get updated in 2024. the new Creta will debut in India by early 2024 & hence the facelift of Taigun seems logical. If VW updates the Taigun, we expect that Skoda Kushaq will also undergo similar updates.
