3 Features To Expect From The Upcoming Tata Punch EV

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tata Punch EV was recently spotted for the very first time
  • The interior spy images of the Punch EV revealed a lot of exciting features
  • The Punch EV is expected to offer some more features over the Tiago & Tigor EV

Tata has been very aggressive with its EV plans in India. It already has 4 EVs on sale in the Indian market. There's Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime & Nexon EV Max. However, there are many buyers who are waiting for the EV avatar of the Punch Micro SUV. However, till a few days ago, there was no news or updates about the Punch EV. But recently, the Punch EV was spotted for the very first time. Also, its first spy images have revealed some exciting features that it will come with. Here are 3 of those features that you can expect in the upcoming Tata Punch EV.

Electric Parking Brake With Auto Hold

The recent first interior spy images of the Tata Punch EV revealed the presence of an electric parking brake with auto hold. The Tiago EV, Tigor EV, & Nexon EV Prime get manual parking brakes. However, the Nexon EV Max gets an electric parking brake with auto hold. Similarly, the upcoming Punch EV will be the second EV from Tata to come with this tech.

Drive Mode Selector With Display

The camouflaged Punch EV that was spotted recently seemed equipped with a rotary-type drive mode selector with a digital display, the same as we see in the Nexon EV Max. Although all Tata EVs come with a rotary type drive mode selector, only the Nexon EV Max gets a digital display on the rotary knob to display the drive modes. All other Tata EVs get an illuminated rotary knob which suffers from poor illumination & extremely low visibility during the daytime. In the upcoming Punch EV, Tata seems to have realized this problem and thus equipped the new Punch EV with the display-type rotary knob.

All-Wheel Disc Brakes & New Active Safety Tech

Unlike other Tata EVs like Tiago EV, Tigor EV & Nexon EV Prime, the Tata Punch EV will come with all-wheel disc brakes, just like the Nexon EV Max. The recently spotted camouflaged Punch EV had disc brakes in the rear wheels. Moreover, the presence of disc brakes means that Tata might also add active safety tech like ESP, traction control, hill hold, etc, on the Punch EV. The regular Punch misses out on these active safety features.

Verdict: Although here we have listed only 3 major features that are likely to come in the upcoming Tata Punch EV, there could be even more interesting features that could surprise us when the Punch EV launches in India, sometime around the end of this year or early next year.
