Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the new generation Dzire. The launch event for the sedan has been scheduled for November 11. Spotted without any camouflage yesterday, the new Dzire is a generational update over the previous model in all aspects- design, features and technology. Looking the compact sedan segment- we have options such as Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. All these sedans have a value-for-money appeal in our market, making it difficult to choose one.
However, the new Maruti Dzire is expected to lead the segment with some first-in-segment features. Here, I'll discuss some features the new Dzire will offer over the Tata Tigor. 9 Inch Touchscreen Infotainment
The new Maruti Dzire will get the same 9-inch infotainment system that the brand currently offers with the new Swift. The available unit will support wireless connectivity- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. So, a bigger infotainment screen will surely enhance the driver's convenience and the overall experience of the cabin. In comparison, the Tata Tigor currently features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that also lacks wireless connectivity options.
Wireless Charging
The new Dzire is expected to offer wireless charging which is a good-to-have feature and enhances convenience. Wired charging ports can create distractions while driving through cables. Lastly, the Dzire rival Tigor misses out on this feature.
360 degree Camera
The new gen Maruti Dzire is confirmed to offer a 360-degree camera. We can also say this because all Maruti cars with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system have this feature (Maruti Jimny Exception). A surround-view camera helps the driver to manoeuvre the car from narrow streets and busy roads.
Sunroof
The sunroof is one of the most desirable features among Indian car buyers. Post-launch, the new Dzire will become the first car to offer a sunroof in its segment. Though it will be a single-pane one, it can help Dzire to lead the segment.
All LED lighting
The new Dzire is expected to get all LED lighting as a part of the upgrade. The current-gen Dzire also offers LED projector headlamps. We expect that the sub-compact sedan will get LED fog lamps as well. On the other hand, the Tata Tigor offers no LED unit, even not for the headlamps.
