The GNCAP crash test scores for Indias safest cars in 2022 are out. We bring out the top five cars that have scored full-five stars in the crash testing for adult safety.
The Global New Car Assessment Program has crash-tested a total of 50 cars that are currently in production in India. Out of this, there are five cars, comprised primarily of SUVs and hatchbacks that score high on adult safety. Some of the models scored well on safety based on their features list, while some get reliable and rigid chassis. Check out the list below to know more about the same:
Mahindra XUV700 ( GNCAP Ratings Adult Safety - 5 Stars)

One of the most likely candidates to score high on safety is Mahindras latest XUV700. As per the test rules, the base trims of every respective model were crash-tested, and in this case, it was the base MX model. Standard safety features on-board the base XUV700 include dual airbags, an anti-lock braking system with EBD, central locking, child safety locks, and Electronic Stability Control. In the crash test results, the pillars were barely affected, and the airbags deployed on time without any delay.

Tata Punch ( GNCAP Ratings Adult Safety - 5 stars)

The Tata Punch is the latest from Tata Motors India to score the full five stars on adult safety from GNCAP. It is based on the same ALFA architecture that also underpins the Tata Altroz hatchback. The model crash tested here was the base Punch Pure model that comes with 2 airbags for both driver and passenger sides. Some of the stand-out safety features on the base model include ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution, and Central locking, with Child Safety Locks.
Mahindra XUV300 ( GNCAP Ratings Adult Safety 5 stars)

Mahindras answer to the rival compacts-SUVs is the XUV300. This compact SUV is definitely one of the better-looking options in its segment that deserves the XUV badge. Based on the X100 platform that also underpins the SsangYong Tivoli sold abroad, gets additional rigidity with front impact beams and side-impact beams.
Some of the standout safety features of the XUV300 include a centrally mounted fuel tank, crash sensors, engine mobilizer, anti-theft device, seat belt pre-tensioners, etc. It also gets advanced safety features like corner braking control, seat belt reminder, high mounted stop lamp, tire position display on-board the XUV300.

Tata Altroz ( GNCAP Ratings Adult Safety 5 Stars)

The Tata Altroz is the only hatchback in the list of top five cars with full five stars for Adult Safety. As mentioned before, the Altroz sits on the reassuring ALFA architecture construction, advanced ABS 9.3 with EBD Corner Stability Control, Pull Away Assist, Automatic Door re-locking, and key lockout protection.
Tata Nexon ( GNCAP Ratings Adult Safety 5 stars)

The Tata Nexon is based on the same X1 platforms, the origins of which go all the way back to Indica. The sub-compact SUV is offered in five trims, and the base XE model comes with dual airbags as standard. Other standout safety features include ABS with EBD, power door locks, Child Safety Locks, Traction Control, and crash sensors.
