State governments are placing large bets on electric cars (EV), and many government branches are adopting EVs as a source of transportation. Tata Motors, one of India's leading automakers, has won an order for 65 EVs from the Kerela State Electricity Board (KSEB). Out of these 65 Tata Motors electric cars, 60 will be Tigor EVs and 5 will be Nexon EVs. This order is part of a competitive pan-India tender launched by KSEB to support the state's objective of being "Go Green/Carbon Neutral" by 2030.
Today, Sri. K. Krishnankutty, Hon'ble Minister of Electricity, Adv. Antony Raju, Hon'ble Minister of Transport, Dr B. Ashok, IAS, Chairman, KSEB, and other Senior Government Officials attended a handover ceremony at Kanakakkkunu Palace in Trivandrum.

It has a 26-kWh high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack, which produces a peak power output of 55 kW, peak torque of 170 Nm, and a 0-60 kmph time of 5.7 seconds, resulting in a zippy and entertaining drive for all occupants. The Tigor EV has an ARAI-certified range of 306 kilometres. Tata's Ziptron technology provides great performance via an energy-efficient motor that provides flat torque from the start, resulting in a 'zippy' driving experience.
