BYD E6 Facelift: Possible Upgrades

BYD M6

The BYD E6 facelift branded as the new M6 will get major upgrades inside and out. It is expected to get all the features that the current gen E6 misses out on. These include connected car technology, three-row seating and dual digital screens. Also, it will get more utility space in all the rows.

However, for now, we don't have much information regarding the powertrain of the India spec BYD M6. But we are expecting the upcoming E-MPV to get an improved range of 530 km (an uptick over its predecessor). Internationally, the BYD M6 is available with two powertrain options- a 55.4 kWh battery pack that provides a 420 km range/charge and a 71.8 kWh battery pack with 530 km of range. The BYD M6 comes powered by a Blade battery which is a new type of battery technology developed by the manufacturer. The automaker claims that the Blade Battery technology is more safer than the lithium-ion batteries used in most electric cars.

BYD E6 Facelift Price and Rivals

The facelifted E6 or the BYD M6 will come to India via the SKD route. We are expecting to be priced between Rs. 30 lakh- 32 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker also has plans to assemble the upcoming MPV locally in India, if demand remains satisfactory.

Verdict

The upcoming BYD M6 (formerly E6) promises significant upgrades, including three-row seating, dual digital screens, and improved utility space. With enhanced range options and advanced Blade battery technology, it's poised to be a safer, more efficient electric MPV. However, its Rs. 30-32 lakh price range could limit appeal in a competitive Indian market dominated by budget-conscious consumers.
