BYD Auto India has commenced bookings for the eMAX 7 or the facelifted BYD e6 MPV. The updated E-MPV will be officially launched on October 8. BYD eMAX 7 Design Language

Though the updated e6 has not been fully revealed by the carmaker yet, it is available in some markets abroad as the BYD M6. The overall silhouette is identical to the current generation e6, but now you get new design elements. These include a refreshed grille, LED headlamps, updated alloy wheels and bumper. At the rear, the eMAX 7 gets a new LED taillight setup. All the design updates on the e6 MPV seem derived from the Atto 3.

BYD e6 Facelift

The BYD eMAX 7 will be sold in 6 6-seater configurations in our region. In terms of interior, it is expected to resemble the M6 MPV. These include a dual-tone theme, a new drive mode selector and an updated centre console as well.

On the feature front, the upcoming eMAX 7 will get features such as a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad and ventilated seat for the driver. and co-passenger. The safety kit could include features like six airbags, TPMS, 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes and ADAS Level 2. The ADAS suite on offer will offer features such as autonomous braking, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

Powertrain

The updated e6 MPV or the eMAX 7 is available with two battery packs internationally which include a 55.4 kWh and a 71.8 kWh unit. Both iterations come with a single motor setup but they produce different power figures which are 163 PS for the 55.4 kWh model and 204 PS for the 71.8 kWh model. Things could be different for the India spec model of the electric MPV, but the global spec model provides an NEDC-certified range of 530 km on a solitary charge.

BYD eMAX 7 Price and Rivals

The upcoming BYD eMAX 7 is expected to arrive at a starting price tag of Rs. 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). Once launched. it will lock horns with the Toyota Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta in India
