Denza Z9 GT

The Denza Z9 GT is a high-end Shooting Brake that offers a mix of performance and practicality. The Z9 GT takes inspiration from its sedan counterpart, the Denza Z9 and features a sloping roofline, a five-door configuration, and a premium liftback-style tailgate. This unique design offers the sleek aesthetics of a coupe while maintaining the utility of a station wagon.
Performance and Powertrain Options

In its home market of China, the Denza Z9 GT is available in both plug-in hybrid and all-electric variants. The flagship EV version boasts a powerful triple-motor setup, which is capable of delivering an whopping 952 bhp. The Denza Z9 GT goes from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. It is equipped with a 100 kWh battery that provides an estimated range of 630 km on a full charge.

The PHEV version, on the other hand, integrates BYD's DM 5.0 technology with a 2.0L petrol engine and a 38.51 kWh battery pack. This combination generates a total power output of 858 bhp and allows the vehicle to achieve an electric-only range of 201 km. This setup extends the range to 1,100 km with the engine's support.
BYD Denza Z9 GT: Design Philosophy

Measuring over 5.1 meters in length with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, the Denza Z9 GT is a commanding presence on the road. It follows BYD's 'Elegance in Motion' design language, apparent by a long bonnet, flush door handles, wraparound tail lamps and an aerodynamic rear spoiler. While the patent design in India excludes optional rear-view cameras, the global version offers them as part of its premium features.
Interiors and Tech

The Denza Z9 GT gets a luxurious and technology-laden cabin on the inside. It comes equipped with five high-resolution displays, including a massive 17.3-inch infotainment screen, a 13.2-inch driver display, a passenger screen, and two door-mounted screens for the rear-view camera feed. Adding to its futuristic appeal is a 50-inch heads-up display.

Additional convenience features on offer include an electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated seats with a massage function. The vehicle also offers a dual-zone panoramic sunroof, premium audio system with retractable Devialet speakers, ambient lighting with 128 colours, a floating center console and hidden air vents. For added luxury, the car houses two refrigerators at the front with 4 litres of capacity and a larger 10 litres unit at the rear.
Will the Denza Z9 GT Arrive in India?

While the patent filing does not guarantee a launch, it certainly opens up possibilities. Given the absence of high-performance electric Shooting Brakes in India, the Denza Z9 GT could carve out a niche if introduced. With an expected price tag ranging from Rs 40-46 lakh in China, it could be a competitive alternative to luxury EVs and hybrids currently available in India.
