Citroen C3 Automatic Details
Automatic gearboxes are in large demand in global markets. Brazil being another blooming market like India; has upped its requirements. A lot of customers now want to buy automatic transmission-equipped cars. Catering to the growing demand, Citroen has introduced this new 6-speed torque converter gearbox.
However, if we speak of the engine variants they remain the same. The automatic is only being offered on the 1.2-Lt Turbo engine only. Citroen has placed the automatic variant as the top-end trim in Brazil. Additionally, the equipment list is also revised now. Yes, the Brazil-spec car now gets more creature comforts when compared to the Indian variant.
First and foremost is the addition of 6 airbags & hill hold assist function. These are added to meet the stricter safety norms in the country. Meanwhile, the Indian spec car does not have such extensive safety measures. However, the Indian government is soon going to introduce new laws that might make the 6 airbags mandatory in all cars soon. Keeping this aside, there are some added features as well in the auto variant. These features are expected to come to India real soon.
C3 New Features
Look at the car and you will realize that the orange dual tone offered in India is changed. The Brazil spec car gets white contrasts like the roof and ORVMs. Additionally, the global spec gets a rear wiper and washer. This is missing in the Indian version. Meanwhile, it also comes with standard alloy wheels. Indian spec comes with steel rims as the alloy wheels are only being offered as an accessory.
A look at the inside showcase that the interior design is more or less the same. However, there are some feature additions here as well. For example, the manual adjustment of ORVMs is now replaced via the electrical operation. Meanwhile, the company has fitted it with a reverse camera as well. Again, it is missing on the Indian spec car. We think this has been added due to strict safety norms overseas.
Just in case you are wondering what are its options in India, its main rivals are - Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago.
