The Force Gurkha 5-door is all set to be introduced in the Indian market in the coming months and will be one of its kind offering in the Indian market. To be based on the same underpinnings that we also get with the standard 3-door Gurkha, this new 4X4 SUV will boast some serious off-roading capabilities along with commendable reliability and quality levels. Ahead of the launch of the Force Gurkha 5-door in the Indian market, the photographs of the test mules recently surfaced online and here is everything that we know far about this 5-door off-roading SUV.
For starters, the design of the 5-door Gurkha is similar to what we see on the standard versions and the SUV retains an almost similar front fascia. Other than that, the only major change is the inclusion of the two extra doors, a longer wheelbase, and a bigger footprint. Having said this, the brand is expected to retain the headlamps, front grille, steel wheels, and the same tail lamps with this version of the Gurkha.

Inside, the new 5-door Gurkha is expected to be offered with both 6 as well as 7-seater iterations. The extra seating will make the Gurkha a lot more practical and usable than before. Having said this, we expect Force Motors to offer a similar dashboard design, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, power windows, central locking, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, etc with the new Gurkha 5-door 4X4 SUV. The Gurkha 5-door is expected to make it to the showrooms before the Thar 5-door and is expected to be priced at around Rs 15-16 lakh (ex-showroom).
Powering this version of the Gurkha will be the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine that produces 91hp and 250 Nm of maximum torque in the 3-door Gurkha. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the power is sent to all four wheels via a four-wheel-drive system. Just like the standard version, this version of the Force Gurkha will offer a low-range transfer case, manual locking front and rear differentials, independent front suspension, and multi-link rigid live axle suspension at the rear.
