Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), the local subsidiary of the renowned Japanese carmaker, has crossed the important milestone of 200,000 deliveries of the second-gen Honda Amaze in India since it was first launched here back in May 2018. With this, the latest generation of the Maruti Dzire-rival has become one of the most successful cars in its carmaker's product catalog. Also, it's important to mention here that the Amaze has registered a cumulative sale of 4.6 lakh units since its first-generation model was introduced in our market in April 2018.

The Honda Amaze is a sub-compact sedan that got a mid-life makeover earlier this year. Available in a price range of Rs 6.32-11.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the C1-segment offering is the most affordable model in its carmaker's five-model-strong portfolio. The sub-4-metre long sedan has been on sale in two engine variants - 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel, with both the motors being available with manual and CVT options. With this, the Amaze has been the only subcompact sedan to offer the diesel-automatic option.
The 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit outputs 90 PS of max. power and 110 Nm of peak torque. The oil-burner, on the other hand, churns out 100 PS-200 Nm with the manual 'box and 80 PS-160 Nm with the CVT.

The latest generation Honda Amaze has been tailor-made for Indian market conditions, with HCIL claiming to have achieved over 95% localization level for the production of its most affordable offering. The Amaze is Hondas strategic entry model, specifically developed for the Indian consumer, and exclusively Made in India. Consistent focus and strong cooperation with its valuable suppliers based in India have helped HCIL to achieve more than 95% localization for the Amaze.
So far, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities have contributed 68% of the total sales of this vehicle. Furthermore, the CVT variants contribute more than 20% share of Amaze sales, which is a reflection of the growing popularity of automatic transmission-equipped models among Indian car buyers. Also, the carmaker has revealed that about 40% of the buyers of the Honda Amaze are first-time car owners.
