Available in a price range of Rs 6.32-11.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda Amaze has been the choice of many first-time car buyers

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), the local subsidiary of the renowned Japanese carmaker, has crossed the important milestone of 200,000 deliveries of the second-gen Honda Amaze in India since it was first launched here back in May 2018. With this, the latest generation of the Maruti Dzire-rival has become one of the most successful cars in its carmaker's product catalog. Also, it's important to mention here that the Amaze has registered a cumulative sale of 4.6 lakh units since its first-generation model was introduced in our market in April 2018.

The Honda Amaze is a sub-compact sedan that got a mid-life makeover earlier this year. Available in a price range of Rs 6.32-11.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the C1-segment offering is the most affordable model in its carmaker's five-model-strong portfolio. The sub-4-metre long sedan has been on sale in two engine variants - 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel, with both the motors being available with manual and CVT options. With this, the Amaze has been the only subcompact sedan to offer the diesel-automatic option.

The 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit outputs 90 PS of max. power and 110 Nm of peak torque. The oil-burner, on the other hand, churns out 100 PS-200 Nm with the manual 'box and 80 PS-160 Nm with the CVT.

Furthermore, the CVT variants contribute more than 20% share of Amaze sales, which is a reflection of the growing popularity of automatic transmission-equipped models among Indian car buyers. Also, the carmaker has revealed that about 40% of the buyers of the Honda Amaze are first-time car owners.
