Hyundai Creta Electric SUV Details
Speaking of the upcoming Creta e-SUV, the model is currently under development. Hyundai's officials confirmed that the Creta electric will launch by early 2025 in India. All thanks to the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YY8 e-SUV; Hyundai has decided to compete with the upcoming rival via the e-Creta. Meanwhile, Hyundai will launch the Ioniq 5 at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo'23. While the Ioniq 5 will come via CBU as well CKD route; Creta will be locally manufactured. Not just this but Hyundai also has cleared that it will start producing local E-GMP architecture in India. This localization will be further used in the future for export as well as domestic sales.
But, why Creta? Well, it is undoubtedly the best-established product for Hyundai in India. Additionally, to compete with the mid-size e-SUVs like Mahindra XUV400 & Tata Nexon EV Max; Creta will fit in perfectly. Meanwhile, Maruti's YY8 will also be a direct rival to it and it is also scheduled to debut in the same time frame. Hence, the e-Creta will get more or less similar specs to its rivals. This means that it will possibly get a real-world driving range of up to 400 km per charge. However, it won't be anytime before early 2025 that the e-Creta will hit the roads.
Verdict
The future of EVs is looking strong as big giants like Hyundai have started introducing new models. With the debut of Creta electric, the EV market of India will become even more competent and option-rich. However, it won't be anytime before early 2025 that the e-Creta hits Indian roads.
