Hyundai India has been sharing one detail after the other of the highly anticipated i20. Yesterday we saw the first design sketches of the new Hyundai i20 and today we have the manufacturing excellence of the i20. Moreover, Hyundai has also started taking bookings for the all new i20 and one can book by paying Rs 21,000 whereas the launch is slated for November 5th.
Hyundai has heavily worked on the design and underpinnings of the new i20. According to the Korean marque, the i20 has 66% advanced and high-strenth steel under the platform for added rigidity and safety. Hyundai also shares the details about the manufacturing excellence facility based in Chennai which has over 650 forth gen robots and 14,000 employees. Hyundai has shared the complete manufacturing excellence process for the new i20.

Sharing the production process of the new 2020 i20, the body panels are stamped in the press area and later checked by 3D scanning tool. The frame then moves to the body line where 450 advanced and self-learning robots welds the panels. The robots are capable of welding 70 cars in an hour and each car has over 4000 welding spots.
After the welding and panels being fixed to the body, the cars move to the paint area where 72 robots do the paint job. Hyundai uses the advanced paint called "High Throw Power Seventh Generation Electro Deposition Paint". On the other hand, the engines are assembled which in question are 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre turbo with different gearbox options.
The engine and other interior bits are assembled at the assembly line followed by a close expert inspection for errors and mis-fittings. Hyundai then tests these new cars on the 180 drive tracks and over various surfaces. The cars which completes the test without any issues are given the green flag and we get to see those cars in our dealerships.

Hyundai has done its math the last bit - the pricing will be announced on November 5th. The 2020 Hyundai i20 is loaded to the brim and Hyundai has not left any stone unturned to make it appealing. The various powertrain options make the new i20 accessible to every set of buyers.
